The Ibis Styles is 3-star older-style motel accommodation (part of the Accor Group) located a short distance from the centre of Katherine.

We stayed one night here after camping in Kakadu National Park. We found the staff very friendly and were able to get a good rate that included a continental breakfast.

Our large room – No 8 – had a queen and a single bed, with sliding doors on either side of the room. There were tea/coffee making facilities, a small fridge and a wardrobe. The bathroom featured a shower, basin and toilet.

We found this accommodation to be good value for money.

On the plus side:

  • the room was spacious
  • we had a very comfortable bed
  • a good shower
  • there was plenty of room on the desk for computers, etc.
  • a nice outlook onto lawn
  • ceiling fan and split system air-conditioning unit

On the downside:

  • no insect screens on doors
  • the room was a bit tired but clean

This establishment had very large grounds and facilities included a swimming pool, laundry, clothesline and tennis court.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast at Galloping Jack’s Steakhouse & Bar- highly recommended.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay.
